November 1966. Barely twenty-one years since America's entry into World War Two and its war to destroy Nazism and Fascism. A state in America's Heartland elects an openly defiant Nazi sympathizer to represent them in the US Senate. The youngest veteran of that horrific conflict is barely 40 years old, but is now stunned to see a supporter of the enemy he spent his formative years defeating now representing Americans in Congress. And his party openly celebrates him, announcing that they are a big tent and all are welcome under it.
Outrageous? Insane? Unspeakable?
Of course it is. This didn't really happen. Not in 1966, or since. At least as far as anyone knows or can verify.
Fast forward 60 years. In November 2026 we have just witnessed an almost exact copy of the fictional story above. Just twenty-one years after the 9-11 attacks, Abdul Al-Sayed, an undercover supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood and a man who stated the 9-11 attacks were “deserved,” is elected to the US Senate from Michigan. Don't waste your time looking up his statements, though. Those comments and subsequent posts were quickly deleted once he decided to run for office. Nevertheless, he HAS refused every opportunity to condemn the Muslim Brotherhood as well as Osama bin Laden and the terrorism he led.
The Muslim Brotherhood has been designated a terrorist organization by Egypt and the United Arab Emirates to name just two Muslim nations of the many who have also done so. This is the group that have developed or spun off Al Qaeda, the Palestinian Liberation Organization, Hezbollah, and HAMAS. This group is NO friend of the United States, the West, or any Western-style democracy or republic in existence today. Frighteningly, these groups have embraced a philosophy that would make the most ardent Nazi blush.
It is said that politics are downstream from culture. If that is the case, how far has the US sunk when it now has at least three Muslim Brotherhood apologists, if not outright supporters, sitting in Congress? Imagine three Nazi supporters sitting in Congress in 1967.
Then there is the situation of one of those very people. “Ilhan Omar,” or whatever her real name may be, not only is supportive of those who attacked us on 9-11, but much of her family is linked to the Siad Barre Somalian regime that launched an actual genocide on their political, cultural, and tribal opponents in Somalia. So severe are the allegations against her that the Biden administration, run by her own Democratic Party, initiated the investigation that we are now hearing about today. She was reelected.
Outrageous? Insane? Unspeakable?
Yet, here we are with America electing people who are clearly anti-Semitic, who believe that the World's Jews have no right whatsoever to a small sliver of land that has been their home and ancestral land for over 3000 years. They also obviously believe that America is either the Great Satan, or a piggy bank for every criminal state and international actor on the planet. And the Democratic Party is doing all it can to protect them.
That is the state of US politics today.
And that is frightening.
